Search for Plasmids
Addgene is a non-profit plasmid repository. We distribute high-quality published plasmids on behalf of scientists. To find the plasmids you need, go to the Search Page or begin here.
How to Request Plasmids
All plasmid requests must be placed on-line.
Addgene accepts requests ONLY from academic or non-profit organizations. If you are from a commercial entity, we can direct you to a contact person at the institution that provided the plasmids. Some institutions can provide the plasmids to you under an MTA.
1. Find the plasmids you need. (Browse, Search) 2. Add the plasmids to your cart. 3. Checkout by click on the View Cart link at the top of the page, or the Checkout link from the menu on the right, then follow the directions. 4. All requests require a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA). After receiving your request online, Addgene will generate the appropriate MTA and contact your institution's technology transfer office. See Addgene's Frequently Asked Questions on MTAs to learn more. 5. Upon receiving a signed MTA, Addgene will ship your sample within 2 business days.
