Addgene is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sharing of
plasmid constructs described in published literature. Addgene stores
original plasmid samples submitted by scientists and distributes them
for use in advancing life science research.
Addgene, with the support of the Saccharomyces Genome Database, is
building a plasmid resource for the S. cerevisiae research
community. Addgene is actively collecting and making available
plasmids used by S. cerevisiae researchers. Donate your
popular plasmids. You get the credit. We do the work.

Why use Addgene?
For laboratories: Addgene's service removes the burden of
archiving and distributing plasmids. Addgene stores your plasmids as
glycerol stocks, coordinates the material transfer process with
different institutions, and distributes plasmids to scientists from
academic and non-profit institutions world-wide.
For scientists: Addgene's website helps scientists find
plasmids that contain wildtype genes, mutants, and useful fusion tags
and backbone features. Access to these materials saves you time.
Support from the research community
The
Saccharomyces Genome Database supports Addgene's effort to collect
and distribute yeast plasmids.
Cell Press,
JCB, and
many
other journals
recommend their authors to submit plasmids to Addgene, or repositories
such as Addgene.
