Addgene is a global, nonprofit plasmid repository. Addgene facilitates plasmid sharing through distribution of the physical samples AND by managing the legal documentation that allows the plasmids to be transferred between researchers at different institutions.

This section of the website will provide you with information about how Addgene works with you and your institution's technology transfer office to ensure that the appropriate MTAs are in place for every plasmid transfer.

You can watch our videos below for the most frequently asked questions about MTAs.

Our first video ( MTA Video #1 ) covers information about MTA requests, like what a MTA is, how you get a MTA started, and approval of a MTA.

Our second video ( MTA Video #2 ) discusses who is authorized to sign MTAs, details about MTA submission, and whether you can reuse MTAs for orders.
