- Created by Moore, July 1995, under contract with NCBI. Mammalian shuttle expression vector containing a CAT (chloramphenicol acetyl transferase) gene expressed under an SV40 promoter. To be used as a control for promoter activity in conjuction with the promoter cloning plasmid KS+SV0CAT (ATCC 37608). Additional polylinker sites are ApaI and KpnI. Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--2.8, 2.1; SmaI--4.7; PstI--4.7; EcoRI--4.l, 0.72; ClaI--4.7. (ATCC staff) Constructed by inserting the AccI-ApaI fragment of pSV2cat into the EcoRV site of Bluescript KS+. Ends were blunt. (personal communication) Medium is 1227 LB plus ampicillin.
