The Neomycin/Kanamycin (NeoR/KanR) selection marker contains a coding difference compared to the NCBI reference sequence the functional consequence of which, is unknown. The plasmid is functional for transient transfection but NeoR/KanR resistance should be functionally characterized before attempting use in generating stable cell lines or under selection.
