Depositor Comments
To enable the conjugal transformation of Geobacillus species. plasmid pS797 was engineered to include an origin of transfer (ORI T) that incorporates the Nic region and traJ gene from the RP4 conjugal plasmid. Additionally, it features two replication origins-ColE for E. coli and BST1 for Geobacillus-to support propagation in both hosts. The plasmid also carries two antibiotic resistance markers, which allow for selection with ampicillin in E. coli and kanamycin in Geobacillus.
