- Shuttle expression vector. Constructed by ligating the larger HindIII/EcoRI fragment of pCMVcat (removing CAT and the SV40 polyadenylation signals) to the HindIII/EcoRI multiple cloning site of pUC19. Commercial use of the human cytomaglovirus promoter/enhancer has been patented on behalf of B. Fleckenstein and W. Schaffner by the Beringwerke. Interested parties should contact the patent holders before planning a commercial application. Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--3.1; PstI--2.3, 0.8; XbaI--2.4, 0.7.
