Notes
[1] reports 5 recombinant joints which appeared after pBR322 sequences were inserted into simian virus 40. Three classes of recombination were found. Recombination appeared to be minimally dependent on sequence homology. End-to-end joining was the primary mechanism by which DNA segments recombined nonhomologously in somatic cells. The G at the recombination site (base 20) of the first group is present in both the pBR322 and SV40 sequences. The 'gcc' at the recombination site (bases 20-22) of the second group is present in both pBR322 regions. The 't' at the recombination site (base 20) of the third group is present in both pBR322 and SV40 sequences. NCBI gi: 207788 & 207789 & 207790 & 207791 & 207792 Hosts: E.coli, monkey kidney CV1 cell, SV40 strain Rh911.
