From the paper: Lambda prophage (from strain DY330; Yu et al. (2000), PNAS 97: 5978-5983) was modified to include the bla gene and introduced into wild-type MG1655 E.coli by P1 transduction at the bioA/bioB gene locus and selected on ampicillin.
