Scientists Love Addgene

Addgene has been an exceptionally useful resource for us, both because they can be trusted to supply our plasmids to other labs efficiently, and because we ourselves are constantly ordering reagents of interest that other labs have deposited. Keep up the good work!

Our optogenetic tools are sweeping throughout neuroscience, helping scientists figure out how the brain works. Without Addgene helping provide these to the world, neuroscience would be moving at a much slower pace.

Tools of the Day

Plasmid

pST_DR_1172 (pBS0313)

Depositor: Pamela Silver

Purpose: For the mammalian expression of the Deinococcus radiodurans protein DR_1172. This is one of the bottom performing targets in our apoptosis assay (it induced apoptosis).

Viral Prep

pAAV-nEF-Con/Foff DREADD Gi…

Depositor: Karl Deisseroth

Purpose: Ready-to-use AAV8 particles produced from pAAV-nEF-Con/Foff DREADD Gi-mCherry (#177673). nEF-driven hM4D(Gi) receptor with an mCherry reporter for CNO-induced neuronal inhibition only in Cre expressing cells and not in Flp expressing cells. These AAV preparations are suitable purity for injection into animals.

Antibody

Anti-Botch [N116/14R]

Depositor: James Trimmer

Purpose: Anti-Botch (Rat) recombinant mouse monoclonal antibody
