Depositor Comments

This IRES-creERT2-FNF cassette was used in the Id1-IRES-creERT2 allele (http://www.informatics.jax.org/allele/MGI:4366863).

Compared to Bochkov and Palmenberg, 2006 (https://doi.org/10.2144/000112243), this EMCV IRES has a 1-bp deletion and an additional base of A ("7A"). The reason for these changes is unclear. These changes were in the electronic sequence file I received. The actual DNA sequence of the IRES was the same as the electronic sequence file. I incorporated this IRES into my plasmids without introducing additional changes. It was more recently tested in driving tdTomato expression (see https://www.addgene.org/185966/), and it was functional. I did not change those bases back and compare whether the expression level is then higher or lower. It may or may not be attenuated compared to the Bochkov and Palmenberg EMCV IRES.
