Depositor Comments

This plasmid contains a toxin-antitoxin system that stabilizes the plasmid in Streptococcus by post-segregational killing of bacteria that have lost the plasmid. This stabilization improves plasmid utility in animal infection models. For more information, please see the original reference. Although designed for use with Streptococcus pyogenes, this plasmid also labels other streptococcal species. For more information, please see Loh JM and Proft T (2016). PMID: 26410784
