Ancillary Agreements

Many of Addgene’s plasmids contain technologies that are owned and/or licensed by third parties. Plasmids containing the technologies described below may require the recipient to agree to certain terms in addition to the UBMTA.

Cellecta Lentiviral Pooled Plasmids and Packaged shRNA Libraries

For plasmids containing Cellecta's lentiviral technologies and/or packaged shRNA libraries, please see the Lentiviral Pooled Plasmid and Packaged shRNA Libraries Ancillary Agreement.

Cre-ERT2 Containing Plasmids

For plasmids containing the Cre-ERT2 construct, designed by the Institut de Genetique et de Biologie Moleculaire et Cellulaire GIE-CERBM (IGBMC), please see the IGBMC Cre-ERT2 Ancillary Agreement.

dCas9 Containing Plasmids

For plasmids containing the dCas9 technology developed at Duke University, please see the dCas9 Ancillary Agreement.

DNA Polymerase B Containing Plasmids

Fluorescent Proteins

The University of California, Stanford University, University of Oregon, Vanderbilt University, and several other institutions are owners of issued or pending patents covering certain fluorescent proteins such as GFP, EGFP, mRFP, mCherry, Cerulean and derivatives. These institutions acknowledge and/or consent to Addgene's distribution of plasmids containing these fluorescent proteins to academic and nonprofit research laboratories for non-commercial research use. Genentech pRK5

iRE1 cDNA Containing Plasmids

Limited Use Label Licenses

Many of Addgene’s plasmids contain technologies that are owned and/or licensed by third parties. The licenses listed below must be read and acknowledged by the recipient scientist prior to use of the material described below.

Agilent Oligo Pools

Biotin AviTag Technology

IMAGE Consortium Materials

Some plasmids may contain cDNAs derived from materials distributed by the IMAGE Consortium. Addgene does not distribute original IMAGE clones. The use and handling of such plasmids are covered under a Good Faith Agreement.

Invitrogen GatewayTM Technology

For plasmids containing the GatewayTM technology from Invitrogen, please note that the purchase of Gateway ClonaseTM from Invitrogen is required for carrying out any GatewayTM recombinational cloning reactions.
